15 years of TERMINAL M

This year, the German queen of techno, Monika Kruse runs her label Terminal M for 15 Years. With an impressive roster, worldwide #1 club hits and classic releases she constantly proved the right taste and is set to continue for another 15 years with big success. To celebrate this 15th birthday Monika will invited some good friends as well as long time Terminal M artists to her day time open air stage at 18hrs Festival 2016.

Elrow Image

Elrow

After a successful ADE show and a massive sold out edition in the Marktkantine, Elrow returns to Amsterdam with their famous “ROWSHOW”. For the fourth year in a row the Spanish club brand Elrow will take over the indoor main room during the night at 18hrs Festival 2016. The insane party will be back with a brand new crazy theme. It is difficult to explain the ridiculousness of Elrow without you actually being there. Crazy themes, quality techno & techhouse music, lots of confetti, and all accompanied by fancy dress play-acting on a level you’re unlikely to see anywhere else. It makes no sense and we love it.

44BASS Image

44BASS

44BASS is a concept initiated by Wouter S. This all started in December 2013 with a need for a fresh new sound in Utrecht. 44BASS managed to get artists like Shadow Child, Hannah Wants, DJ EZ, Bicep, Low Steppa and a lot of others to the events. 44bass represents the best UK House, Bass and Garage and all that stuff they like so much. After the huge success of the 44bass debut at 18hrs Festival in 2015, 44bass will return this year with a fresh line-up.

TECHNO Image

TECHNO

The second outdoor stage will be this year the home for the fans of pure techno. No brand hosting or fancy decoration, just a massive techno line-up and insane soundsystem! All the ingredients for a proper techno stage!

HAPPY FEELINGS Image

HAPPY FEELINGS

This fancy party concept will made his debut at 18hrs Festival 2016. Happy Feelings is without a doubt THE happiest place to be in Amsterdam. From golden oldies, House and Disco to 90’s & 00’s hits, only the best songs for this (happy/awesome/joyful) concept! With balloons, confetti and the happiest DJ’s from Amsterdam in galore, Happy Feelings is all about silliness and letting go! Joy prevails and your smile takes the cake.

Low Steppa Image

Low Steppa

Low Steppa’s tenure in the scene has been short but explosive due to his forward thinking and intelligent production work, making his popularity rise rapidly. Catapulting his career with his massive bootleg of Route 94’s ‘My Love’ in 2013.  Since “My Love” success, notable productions include the summer anthem of 2015, his rework of Hardrive’s ‘Deep Inside’, which was picked up by legendary dance label Strictly Rhythm. Alongside his heavy DJ schedule and releases, Low Steppa operates his own label by the name of Simma Black, nurturing new talent.

Cause & Affect Image

Cause & Affect

Birmingham’s Cause & Affect – Chris Lorenzo and the mononymous Kane – are unlike most other DJ/producer acts today. They don’t censor themselves in interviews. The pair have shaken up British dance music with their unique sound – a jackin’ bass house mutant Lorenzo calls ‘house & bass’. It’s the new speed garage. Cause & Affect appear a relatively new combo, yet each has a history in the scene. Lorenzo has an extensive background as a producer – being a ghostwriter of bassline tunes from a young age. These days he regularly collaborates with break-out star Hannah Wants. Cause & Affect established themselves with 2013’s Don’t Like To Do That EP on Claude VonStroke’s San Francisco-based dirtybird.

Benny Rodrigues Image

Benny Rodrigues

Benny Rodrigues is definitely one of the most popular Dutch dj’s in the house and techno scene in Holland. This Rotterdam born and raised talent with Portuguese blood understands the art of using the funk, of getting the dancing floor full and the room to its feet. Although confessed because of its groovy/funky (deep) tech-house sound with lots of detroit, minimal and acid influences , he also loves to play a set full of jackin house!

DJ Q Image

DJ Q

DJ Q began his musical journey from a very young age. At the tender age of 12 he began garnering records and tapes and was already beginning to integrate himself into a flourishing UK Garage scene before amassing enough 12”s to warrant the purchase of his very first set of decks. 3 years on at 15, a self taught DJ Q had honed the skills sufficient to earn him his first bookings at local parties and unknowingly laid the foundations of a career.

Now – a lauded stalwart of UK Garage and House – DJ Q continues to maintain variety and dynamism in his productions. Either as a radio host or headline DJ he has earned his stripes and his rep as a musician whose shows, broadcasts and releases are not to be missed out on.”

Julian Alexander Image

This brought him to play in the biggest clubs in europe like Panorama bar and Fabric along side artists as Ryan Elliot, DVS1 and Margret Dygas. Samuel also plays with his brother Julian Alexander under the name Ingi Visions.

His latest edit of Grobbie’s headshot has been heard in all big clubs in Europe. The upcoming solo release and the collaboration with his brother as Ingi Visions will drop in 2016.

Wouter S Image

Wouter S

44bass founder and resident DJ Wouter S has entered the electronic music scene rapidly. He has not only made a name for himself through the hosting of very successful 44Bass parties in Utrecht and Rotterdam, but also by standing out from the unmeasured amount of competition that was going on between DJ’s in Holland last couple of years. With his mix of House, UK garage & Techno he is now also a regular guest in the clubs in the UK.

U Know The Drill Image

U Know The Drill

Pulled straight from a rooftop house party, U Know The Drill delivers bumping beats, house piano’s, vintage vocal shots and basses that are thick as sludge. With solid releases on Slapfunk Records, Music Is Love, Basserk and BMKLTSCH RCRDS, they are well on their way of realizing their dream of becoming a household name in the scene.

Their EP ‘I Need You’ and their track ‘Stacking Papers’ on SlapFunk Records received a lot of attention and their new tracks are getting support from none other than Hannah Wants, DJ Q, De Sluwe Vos, Low Steppa, Oli Furness, DJ Caspa, Zinc, My Nu Leng and Mella Dee.

Regis Image

Regis

Karl O’Connor is most certainly Regis (50% of O/V/R)  and it is also highly probable that he propagates other pseudonyms. This has only added to the greater mythology surrounding the influential Downwards label that he has run with fellow art terrorist Peter Sutton (Female) since 1993. Unconventional and single-minded to say the least (what label can boast a back catalogue free of the industry standard cash cow remix ) by decentralising the focus on the dj/producer personality, he remains one of the more highly regarded creative forces within the British techno/electronic scene.

Answer Code Request Image

Answer Code Request

If you listen to the music of Answer Code Request aka Patrick Gräser,, be it on his astonishing records, as accordingly astonishing live act, or in the shape of his diversified and tremendously executed DJ sets, it all fits together. It seems it only took Answer Code Request a bit longer to enter the spotlight because he wanted it that way. He waited until everything was perfect and ready to go. And then it took him way shorter than almost everybody else to break through, and stay, just because of that.

From first public appearance to internationally acclaimed artist, performer and Berghain resident DJ, it only took Answer Code Request a year. Enough said.

But above all ROD is known for his deeply rooted dj-sets, which bring him to many Techno-hotspots around the world, including Berlin’s iconic Berghain.

Sandrien Image

Sandrien

Still firmly rooted in her hometown scene and a regular techno headliner at events around The Netherlands, her reach extends well beyond the Dutch border. Catching this feeling in his tracks, his podcasts and especially in his long dj sets is what drives Jean Pierre Enfant to the fullest. If you are in definite need to put a tag on this Amsterdam based artist, then mix Detroit, New York, Berlin & Chicago with the housy, the dark and the slightly paranoid sides of techno.

Mathias Kaden Image

Mathias Kaden

If there had to be one word to describe German Mathias Kaden in all his creative phases as a DJ and producer, „energetic“ would be on top of the list. The artist, who is closely affiliated with the record label Freude am Tanzen from Jena city, has been on an energetic musical route right from the start of his career. Whether it is Openening, Primetime or Aftershow, Mathias’ intuition for the crowd and location, proves each time again that he lives for his profession.

JP Enfant Image

JP Enfant

By merging long dj sets with a collective hedonistic vibe, Jean Pierre Enfant is not experimenting, but simply following his passion for music.
