Happy Feelings

Happy Feelings made its debut last year at 18hrs Festival and they did what they had promised: a great happy party! From golden oldies, House and Disco to 90’s & 00’s hits, only the best songs for this (happy/awesome/joyful) concept! With balloons, confetti and the happiest DJ’s from Amsterdam in galore, Happy Feelings is all about silliness and letting go! Joy prevails and your smile takes the cake

Benny Rodrigues Image

Benny Rodrigues

Benny Rodrigues is definitely one of the most popular Dutch dj’s in the house and techhouse scene in Holland. This Rotterdam born and raised talent with Portuguese blood understands the art of using the funk, of getting the dancing floor full and the room to its feet. Although confessed because of its groovy/funky (deep) tech-house sound with lots of Detroit, minimal and acid influences , he also loves to play a set full of jackin house! Last year Benny played a b2b set with De Sluwe Vos at the 44Bass stage. Because the vibe during their b2b was so great they will go for a rematch at 18hrs Festival 2016

Cari Lekebusch Image

Cari Lekebusch

An extraordinary figure in the second generation of Techno producers to emerge from the electronic music explosion of the late 1980s and early 1990s, Cari Lekebusch has sustained over thirty years in music through an unwavering commitment and an unquenchable desire to constantly move things forward. Credited as being the figurehead of the globally influential Swedish Techno scene that subsequently spawned internationally recognized names such as Adam Beyer, Alexi Delano, Joel Mull and Ida Engberg

He has experimented with sounds across a range from Techno to Electro; releasing on well respected labels such as Drumcode, Truesoul, Novamute, Soma, Primevil, Harthouse, Missile, Turbo, Mote Evolver, 430 West, ISL, Sleaze, Svek, CLR and his own label imprint H-Productions .

Darius Syrossian Image

Darius Syrossian

‘It’s all House and Techno and I’m not interested in fads’. These words from Darius Syrossian not only define his style and sound, but also represent the principles by which he has successfully made his name as a DJ, Producer, label boss and radio host on a global scale.

Darius was in 2016 a weekly resident for DO NOT SLEEP’s residency at the legendary Space Ibiza and did a Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. Darius having played gigs at every major club and festival in every continent, he has also produced & released music on a host of the biggest record labels out there, with his most recent work in 2016 appearing on taste-making labels such as Mobilee sister label Leena, Material and let’s not forget his productions on his own Do Not Sleep label

De Sluwe Vos Image

De Sluwe Vos

He has been knocking on doors for quite some time now, but after the release of his debut album ‘Kontra’ it’s virtually impossible not to have heard of Robert Vosmeijer’s alter ego De Sluwe Vos! The technically highly gifted producer quickly graduated from small gigs in his Dutch hometown Deventer to headline billings on internationally acclaimed festivals such as Lowlands and Awakenings. He is now probably one of the most popular house acts in Holland. Last year he played a surprise b2b with Benny Rodrigues  at 18hrs Festival 2016 (44Bass stage). Because the vibe during their b2b was so great they will go for a rematch at 18hrs Festival 2016

Ferro Image

Ferro

2017 will be definitely the year for the Amsterdam based Ferro. He is the founder and resident DJ of the popular VBX concept. Ferro has created his own signature sound. His sets wave together intricate rhythms, plenty of mood and never fail to work a dance-floor. Unsurprisingly given that he is an Audio Engineer graduate, so too does Ferro produce his own music. So far coming on labels like Fuse, Moss Co and Karton. It is a sound that comes caked in a vintage dust, sounding as though his beats have been maturing in a draw before being unleashed on the world.

Gary Beck Image

Gary Beck

For the second year in a row, dj- producer from Glasgow, Gary Beck will be part of the line-up for 18hrs Festival. Gary Beck is regarded as one of the most prolific and inventive producers in the current electronic music scene. Renowned for his own unique techno sound, Gary is currently in high demand all over the world , playing at some of the most respected clubs and Festivals.

After spending previous years releasing on labels such as Drumcode, Saved and Cocoon, he now concentrates fully on his own label BEK Audio. With a back catalogue of artists such as Mr. G, Dj Rush, Mark Broom & Speedy J, BEK has developed into one of the strongest Techno labels around.

Jay Lumen Image

Jay Lumen

Hungarian producer and techno DJ Jay Lumen is internationally appreciated with countless Beatport top ten productions. He was one of the bestselling producers on the Beatport platform in 2016. He is the founder of Footwork Records. He also certainly earned his stripes when it comes to releasing on high-profile labels like Drumcode, Saved, 100% Pure, Cadenza and Octopus Records. Proud to have one of best Eastern Europe’s underground artist at 18hrs Festival!

Juan Sanchez Image

Juan Sanchez

Labeled by many as a sovereign tastemaker within the international electronic music community, Amsterdam-based DJ/producer and FORMAT-founder Juan Sanchez continues to consistently and relentlessly push techno boundaries. His trademarked stripped-down sound, which is as sophisticated as it is potent, has made him a respected name in his league and a preferred pick for numerous promoters across the globe. Juan’s skills stretch further than just the decks: his studio output has appeared on a wealth of labels such as Drumcode, Stockholm LTD and Wolfskuil amongst many others.

Low Steppa Image

Low Steppa

Low Steppa’s tenure in the scene has been short but explosive due to his forward thinking and intelligent production work, making his popularity rise rapidly. Catapulting his career with his massive bootleg of Route 94’s ‘My Love’ in 2013.  Since “My Love” success, notable productions include the summer anthem of 2015, his rework of Hardrive’s ‘Deep Inside’, which was picked up by legendary dance label Strictly Rhythm. Alongside his heavy DJ schedule and releases, Low Steppa operates his own label by the name of Simma Black. He was the 4th best house selling producer on Beatport in 2016. Great to have this sympathetic artist back at 18hrs Festival 2017

Paul Ritch Image

Paul Ritch

We’re hyped to welcome Paul Ritchat 18hrs Festival. The Parisian is somewhat of a techno don, with a killer live show, an innovative DJ set and releases on labels like Drumcode, SCI+TEC, Cocoon and his own imprint Quartz Rec. Paul Ritch’s productions and performances, characterised by his powerful and harmonic techno with a touch of pure emotive soul, represent his true signature sound – the one that has projected him to global recognition. In 2016 Paul introduced his new DJ SET, a fresh facet that is equally creative but with the new wealth provided by additional resources and tools

Route 94 Image

Route 94

After his debut single “My Love” (vocals by Jess Glynne) in 2013, British DJ and record producer Route 94, has quietly yet forcefully established himself as a distinctive young figure in today’s house music scene. His music – simmering, forceful and purpose crafted for late night dancefloors – speaks of long evenings spent locked deep into mesmerising four-to-the-floor grooves, so immersed that the surrounding world falls away. He is a resident artist of Jamie Jones his Paradise party at Ibiza.

Stranger Image

Stranger

In 2015 tipped as being one of Rotterdam’s best kept secrets in Techno, dj/producer ‘stranger’ moves in mysterious ways and has quickly proven to one of Rotterdam most popular techno artist. His first musical appearance in 2014 was quickly picked up by established names as Dave Clarke, Sven Vath and Marcel Dettmann, giving his career aswell as his own Self Reflektion label a major kick-start. While remaining in the background pushing forward talented artists and working on various projects such as the highly anticipated Paling Trax label, his dj-career is on the rise. His name now can be found on the line-ups of some of all the popular underground clubs in Holland.

The Advent live Image

The Advent live

London based Cisco Ferreira, or ‘The Advent’, can be described in many ways: a musician, a pioneer, a sound designer, a steady force, one persistent m*therf*cker, a rebel, an techno icon, an outsider, a great live artist…

Mostly though, The Advent is known for his interpretation of what we call Techno. In 2007 he met Ricardo Rodri- gues aka Industrialyzer, in whom he recognised an attitude similar to his own. They are both from Portugal, both self-made, and the both have a clear vision of what techno should sound like. As a duo they’re at least as popular as they are as individual artists, playing sold out shows wherever they go, and steadily creating an impressive combined oeuvre.

In 2009 she started out as an underground DJ in Sydney Australia, in 2012 back in Amsterdam things got real. Knowing that her sounds were hard to place she created club nights for a wide reach of bass grounded sounds. From here on out she became known for her hard-hitting bass house to grime, trap, beats and UK garage. With a big background of hiphop she easily kicks in a hint when the mood is right.

Samuel Deep Image

Samuel Deep

If he’s not playing parties, Samuel spends most of his time crate digging. Black gold is pretty much the love of his life and his collection is steadily growing. Samuel Deep owes his short but successful career to modesty, dedication and ambition.

This brought him to play in the biggest clubs in Europe like Panorama bar and Fabric along side artists as Ryan Elliot, DVS1 and Margret Dygas. Samuel also plays with his brother Julian Alexander under the name Ingi Visions.

Their EP ‘I Need You’ and their track ‘Stacking Papers’ on SlapFunk Records received a lot of attention and their new tracks are getting support from none other than Hannah Wants, DJ Q, De Sluwe Vos, Low Steppa, Oli Furness, DJ Caspa, Zinc, My Nu Leng and Mella Dee.

Marcel Fengler Image

Marcel Fengler

DJ and producer, Marcel Fengler stands for imposing surprises and the appeal of variety. For him, techno is both unconditional passion as well as an essential part of his identity. He’s not bound to a linear or one-dimensional sound, instead, he’s constantly seeking for new ways to express his emotional storytelling skills. Lucy Image

Lucy

Lucy (née Luca Mortellaro) is one of the pre-eminent sonic adventurers of his time. Not bound to conventional pre-conceptions of what an electronic musician, producer, or DJ must be, Lucy has evolved his distinct sound signature by reconciling the deeply personal with the esoteric, and by harmonizing the spheres of technology and biology. In doing so, he has become rare as an artist, in his ability to please an audience while also introducing them to elements they were not yet familiar with and thereby pushing them out of their comfort zone.

Mirella Kroes Image

Mirella Kroes

Mirella Kroes is a strong mind with a love for nature, both spiritual and down to earth. This duality is reflected in her dj-sets. She favours the contemporary, deeper side of techno that is in equal parts enticing to the brain and captivating the soul. Mirella tends to explore the trippier, mental side of electronic music in her sets that echo a longing for the mysterious.

With over more ten years experience she is a regular guest in Dutch and European clubs. Over the years she played in Doornroosje, Trouw, Studio 80, and at festivals such as Awakenings. She held a residency in the now closed Cruquiusgilde, a former warehouse in Amsterdam known for its raw and intimate setting.

Ringo Live Image

Ringo Live

Ringo van Gaalen, better known as Ringo Live is not a dj. He only preform as a live act with his raw and deep techno sound. His energetic performance with his long hair en tattoos are one of his trademarks. Benny Rodrigues called Ringo Live as one of the best Dutch techno acts at this moment

Sandrien Image

Sandrien

Although she’d probably never say it herself, Sandrien truly is one of Amsterdam’s finest techno DJ’s. As a resident artist of the former club TrouwAmsterdam she has grown from local favourite into international ambassador for the prolific and globally appealing club. Sandrien’s prolonged residency at Trouw is an undeniable affirmation of her talent and versatility. She is able to almost instantly get a cold crowd in the right mood and has proven on numerous occasions that she excels at both short, intense sets and long, building ones.a

Egbert LIVE Image

Egbert LIVE

Egbert van der Gugten, otherwise known as Egbert, is an ordinary Dutch guy with an extraordinary sound. One of Holland’s finest techno producers to date, it all started from humble beginnings in his Rotterdam loft, with fellow Dutch artist Secret Cinema (Jeroen Verheij) unearthing this unique talent. The rest is history. From the loft to soon appearing at Time Warp, Awakenings and no less than a dozen times in a couple years at Club Womb in Tokyo; the meteoric rise has been testament to his hard work. On a fantastic day of Loveland action in Amsterdam, with a range of high profile names before and after, Egbert slotted in perfectly, showcasing his hard-hitting techno talent once more.

Luuk van Dijk Image

Luuk van Dijk
